Multi-Fold 'Die-Cut' Boxes
'Die-Cut' boxes refer to a box that is cut out of a flat sheet of board material using a tool (or 'die') to create the cuts and folds as required. Die-Cut boxes come in a vast array of sizes and styles, according to the 'Box Styles Guide'. Die-Cut boxes are available in a full range of different board grades, and can also be printed- see 'Printed Boxes' category on website for more information.
Lyan Packaging supply many industrial customers with bespoke die-cut boxes. Die-Cut boxes may be chosen over standard ('0201' style) boxes in one or more of the following circumstances: -
- Packing Small or Oddly Shaped Items- die-cut boxes can be manufactured to a smaller size than standard boxes, and they don't necessarily have to be of a square or rectangular profile, making them ideal for the secure packing of odd items.
- Easy to Close- die-cut boxes usually come with tabs for closing, eliminating the need for taping.
- Space Saving- die-cut boxes generally use less material than standard boxes to manufacture, and hence more boxes can usually be fitted onto a standard pallet.
- Cost Saving- potentially the most cost effective solution in large quantities.
Depending upon the box size and style, we will generally advise on a minimum order quantity to make the manufacture cost effective. A typical minimum quantity for a die-cut box would be 1,000 lots. For large orders of boxes we may be able to offer a stock hold service, ensuring the best price and short lead times.
